Your new bundle of joy will only be tiny for a short period of time so now is the perfect time to capture their dinky little fingers and toes to treasure forever!

​

Newborn portraits are best captured between the 5th and 14th day of your babies life. This is because at this time babies tend to beat their sleepiest and have that womb like behaviour still present. This doesn't limit us to that age, it just means we are more likely to get those cute sleepy poses. We can still capture plenty of special moments after this time.

It is best to prebook your newborn session while pregnant too make sure we have a slot available during the first 2 weeks after birth. You can book your session from as early as your 12 week scan and of course we can be flexible on the date as babies rarely arrive on time!

We welcome both parents and siblings to join in during these precious sessions. We also encourage you to bring along any of your baby's usual comforts; dummy, blanket, teddy and any other precious or personalised items to make your photos extra special!

You will have full use of our beautiful newborn outfits, props and equipment and to help me plan your session, we will talk about what images you love and why prior to your session.

Once you arrive, sit back and relax on our sofa, put your feet up and enjoy some much-needed me time. We never rush our tiny clients, our newborn sessions are completely baby led which means each session can last anywhere between one hour up to 4 hours so there's no rush, no pressure. 

We ask that you aim to feed your baby upon arrival and to bring a couple of extra feeds for during your session.

As a newborn photographer my main priority during your session is your child's safety. I may sometimes have a studio assistance aka a  "spotter"- this will require them to sit close to your little one while I take a step back to capture the shot. Newborns have a startle reflex, they can seem fast asleep but it only takes second for them to startle and throw their arms up.

Please be aware that some newborns do not like all poses. Each baby is different and sometimes it can be due to how they lay in your uterus, whether they have wind or just how sleepy they are that day. I work with each baby uniquely, by reading their cues I can ensure they're comfortable and safe.
